R Madhavan is getting a lot of love after the recent success of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. However, Madhavan’s popularity among the audience, especially among women, is not new. The actress has always been a favorite of many and enjoyed ‘heartthrob’ status with films like ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’. Meanwhile, in his personal life too, Madhavan is quite the green flag. Fans love the way he talks about his wife and being a family man. He turned 56 today and here he is recalling the advice he took Mani Ratnam which contributed to his longtime marriage. He once spoke about his wife Ranveer on Allahbadia’s podcast: “We fight as much as any couple. We have a lot of respect for each other. For Sarita, I am not just a national star or an actress, so she should feel privileged to be his wife. She is the counterpart of the boy who falls in love with her and respects her. And I don’t miss an opportunity to make you feel lucky.” Their bond has extended beyond their personal lives into their professional careers as well. Sarita has worked as a costume designer on several of Madhavan’s projects, including the 2009 Tamil romantic comedy Guru En Aalu. The actress once revealed that filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s advice played a big role in how they handled their married life amidst the demands of the film industry.“He said that many couples try their relationships to the death when there is no need. I realized that there were many temptations, to be in the company of beautiful women in outdoor films. I took Sarita wherever I went. Thus, she was around when I introduced the actors. I was never lonely during the schedules of my station. When Sarita saw me behind the scenes in a romantic scene, she knows that there are no real feelings.”While the couple’s story is often associated with romance and loyalty, Madhavan has also shared funny glimpses into the day-to-day dynamics. In an interview with Unfiltered Entertainment, Sarita recalled how she reacted when she spent too much time at home during the pandemic.“My wife says you won’t be able to get out of work – you do Tamil comedy, Tamil action, OTT, Hindi action, English OTT. I’m surprised you’re at home. During the time of COVID in 2020, he threw me out of the house and said, ‘Go out, do some work, earn money,'” he said. The actor also credits Sarita’s role in helping him keep perspective on his career. According to Madhavan, she was the first to notice when his enthusiasm for work started to fade.“One day, my wife asked me, ‘What do you have?’ He said you will go to work as if you want to come back from there. In fact, that made a lot of sense,” he said.More than three decades after they first met, Madhavan and Sarita’s relationship continues to be celebrated by fans as an example of a camaraderie built on friendship, equality, humor and constant support.
