The MA Chidambaram Stadium is all set for its final match of IPL 2026 as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 63 on Monday. While playoff qualification hangs in the balance, the primary spotlight remains firmly on MS Dhoni. Will he play in what could be the legend’s last match in Chennai? No one knows. As Dhoni has done all season, he turns up for training, faces a few throwdowns and spin bowling and off he goes.CSK will have to win both their remaining games to make it to the playoffs. Two wins from their last two games would take them to 16 points which would be enough to qualify although the final result will depend on other results as well. CSK are reeling from a loss against LSG where Mitchell Marsh’s power hitting ended their bowling. The addition of Spencer Johnson to their bowling line-up adds more depth to the bowling group, which they will need against SRH’s fearsome top 4. The focus will once again be on the batting line-up, as CSK are in desperate need of runs, especially from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devild Brews. South African players have scored only 99 runs in six innings. SRH’s run has been quite similar to that of the five-time champions. They have lost three of their first four and, incidentally, their win against CSK at home has kept them top of the points table. Pat Cummins’ team is coming off a week-long break and their last outing in Ahmedabad was a surprise. They were bundled out for just 86. They will hope it was a one-off performance as another repeat would have a huge impact on NRR. Given how the points table is currently shaping up, this could be the deciding factor in the end.
