Sharing the story behind the expensive gift, Salman revealed that he could only arrange a part of the amount and borrowed the rest of the money.“The first expensive thing I bought was a Rolex watch for my dad. When I got the watch, I didn’t have the money for it, but my dad liked it.”“At that time, it cost something like nine lakh rupees. I had four, I got the rest as a loan.”However, the gesture did not immediately impress Salim Khan, who questioned Salman for spending so extravagantly early in his career.“When I gave it to my father, he said, ‘You didn’t even start working properly, and you started doing all these things. Do you think you’re a king?'”Salman added that although his father was not happy at first, he eventually grew fond of the watch and described it as “a jewel”.A few years later, Rolex itself found its way back to Salman.“When I started wearing the watch, he gave me this,” says the actor.

The actor also addressed the rumors surrounding his alleged luxury watch collection and insisted that most of the watches people see him wearing are friends’.“I stopped wearing watches for the last 26-28 years of my life. Now, if you see me wearing a watch, it’s not always mine. They are friends.”“I take them to try them on, wear them, and then they come back to them. I just have that Rolex. All the breaks are from my friends.”

On the work front, Salman Khan will next star in Maatrubhumi opposite Chitrangada Singh. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and was earlier titled Battle of Galwan.The actor also has SVC63 with Nayanthara. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and helmed by Dil Raju, the film is expected to release on Eid 2027.
