INI-CET is conducted twice a year by AIIMS Delhi for admission to postgraduate medical courses including MD, MS, MCH, DM and MDS programs in leading institutions across the country.Now that the exam is over, it’s time to focus on the next steps of the admission process, especially the result declaration, counseling schedule and seat allocation details.
INI-CET 2026 : Result date
As per the official schedule, INI-CET May 2026 Result is expected to be declared on 23 May 2026. Candidates who qualify the exam will proceed to counseling and seat allocation round.The result will determine eligibility for participation in the next stages of admission to participating Institutes of National Importance (INIs).
INI-CET 2026: Counseling and Seat Allocation Process
After declaration of results, seat allocation process for all participating institutes will be done online. The counseling will consist of at least two main rounds followed by an open round, the detailed schedule of which will be released separately.Allotment of seats will be done on the basis of merit and preference of candidates. Important factors include:
- Candidate Rank and Merit Position
- Choices filled during counseling
- Reservation policies including OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwBD categories
- Institutional rules of the participating institutions concerned
The process will follow a coordinated system as per the institute, where all the participating INIs coordinate seat allocation based on availability and candidate selection.According to the official timeline, the academic session for the selected candidates is expected to start from July 1, 2026, while the last date for admission is August 31, 2026.
