The late filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalaniwho breathed his last today (June 4) due to cirrhosis of the liver, once Govinda‘s career, the actor largely blamed the company’s choice. He said Govinda was influenced by people in the industry who did not have his best interests at heart and increasingly relied on expert advice.
Pahlaj Nihalani blamed Govinda’s inner circle for his career decline
He reflected on Govinda’s career decline in an interview with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, citing the actor’s confident nature and the influence of his inner circle as key reasons. Elaborating on his views, Pahlaj said, “Govinda was very nice. He managed his career very well, but because of his ‘weakness’, he tends to trust people easily, and that’s why this happened. The atmosphere around him is not good, that’s why he stays away. He maintains an atmosphere of pandits and astrologers, soothsayers and around him and believes. But people don’t take those conversations seriously. These kinds of conversations and that aura are incredibly harmful, and this has affected his career in the film industry.’

He further added, “He was a single screen hero, and when multiplexes came, people stopped releasing his films. From a 90s superstar to a new family debut
In the 1990s, Govinda was successful at the box office with films such as ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’ and ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’, but his momentum slowed down in the early 2000s as several of his films flopped.
