New Delhi: India Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Duschet said on Thursday that Rishabh Pant needs to adapt his batting to match conditions, while also confirming that the wicketkeeper-batsman has no problem losing the Test vice-captaincy.Speaking ahead of India’s only Test against Afghanistan starting on Saturday, Ten-Douchet emphasized the importance of leadership without an official role and said Pant’s focus should be on making sound decisions based on the game situation. “You don’t need a formal title to be a leader. We need him to adjust his game to suit the situation,” Deoschate said.Pant was removed as India’s Test vice-captain when the BCCI announced the squad for the Afghanistan Test last month. Speaking on the verdict, Ten Douchet said Pant accepted the move without any qualms.“There is no complaint against Rishabh over his removal as VC.”Pant has scored 3,476 runs in 49 Tests at an average of 42.91.
