Comedian actor Vir Das She recently took to social media to call out her alleged disturbing experience with food and grocery delivery platform Zepto. The actor said he was handed a fake Apple Watch despite paying nearly Rs 50,000 for the product, and alleged that his concerns were met with little help from customer care.Sharing his frustration online, Vir explained that the watch was urgently ordered to shoot, making the situation even more awkward. Posting images of the product he received, he questioned its authenticity and accused the platform of selling what appeared to be a fake device.“Ok. Am I wrong, all Apple Watches look the same or is @ZeptoNow @zeptocares shady with Chinese copies? By the way, the agent on the customer’s device said on the phone that there is nothing they can do. Complete scam. We needed one quickly to film. They charged us 50 thousand.”His post quickly gained attention, with several social media users tagging Zepto and asking the company for clarification.In response to the mounting criticism, Zepto released a statement saying it was looking into the matter and that a reverse pickup had already been arranged as part of its investigation process. “We take such concerns seriously and have already scheduled a reverse pickup of the product, which is our standard process in such cases. This will help us investigate the issue with our brand partners. For high-value products, users receive an OTP at the time of delivery.” The OTP packet should be shared only after checking that it is properly sealed and in good condition.”The company also assured customers that it was reviewing the case. “We are currently looking into this case and will take appropriate action based on our findings,” they added.On the professional front, Vir Das is gearing up for ‘Happy Patel’ which marks his directorial debut.
