June 2026 is set to bring several new vehicles to the Indian market spanning the luxury, performance, hybrid and electric segments. Automakers are gearing up to introduce new models and powertrain options as they expand their offerings across categories. Key launches expected this month include the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BYD’s new hybrid model, the BMW X6 M60i and the Skoda Kodiaq RS. Tata Motors is also expected to launch the Sierra EV, marking another addition to its growing portfolio of electric vehicles. In this article, let’s look at the cars coming in June 2026. Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift The first car on the list is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift which is slated to launch on May 15, 2026. For the first time, the flagship luxury limousine will also be offered in the Indian market with a plug-in hybrid powertrain option. The updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class includes extensive design revisions, technology upgrades and new features, with Mercedes-Benz saying that around 90 percent of the car has been redesigned. The luxury sedan is also expected to get a petrol engine option at a later stage, though the company is yet to confirm the future of the diesel-powered variant.It is not yet confirmed whether the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be brought to India as a CBU import or assembled locally to keep prices competitive. The updated flagship sedan is expected to be priced from Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom), with the plug-in hybrid variant likely to carry the highest price tag. Once introduced, the S-Class will compete with the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series in the Indian market.The facelift introduces a larger grille with chrome star pattern inserts and an illuminated surround, while the bonnet-mounted Mercedes badge is now backlit. The redesigned headlamps are larger and have daytime running lights in the shape of a triple three-pointed star. The S 450e with EQ Hybrid Technology trim has a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline-six engine with an electric motor that produces a combined 435hp and 680Nm of torque. Power comes from a 22kWh battery pack, which Mercedes-Benz claims can provide up to 100km of electric-only driving range under ideal conditions.BMW X6 M60iNext up is the new BMW X6 M60i, pre-bookings have begun. It will be brought to India via the CBU route and is expected to be priced in excess of Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete with the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe in the Indian market.Talking about the powertrain, the new BMW X6 will be powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which produces 523hp and 750Nm of torque. It gets 48V mild hybrid tech and comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. The coupe can sprint from 0-100 in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.Design-wise, the new BMW X6 M60i updates the styling while retaining its coupe-SUV look. The front now features a revised illuminated kidney grille, slim adaptive LED headlamps with new daytime running light signatures, and a redesigned bumper with larger air intakes and gloss black inserts. The profile continues with the sloping roofline that defines the X6, along with new alloy wheel designs and M-specific exterior elements. Sculpted body panels and a pronounced shoulder line maintain the SUV’s muscular stance.BYD’s new PHEVBYD’s new PHEV is then slated to launch sometime in June 2026. The company recently released a teaser image that confirms it will be a plug-in hybrid, although the company hasn’t revealed the exact model. The upcoming vehicle is confirmed to feature BYD’s DM-i Super Plug-in Hybrid system. Atto 2 remains a potential candidate and has been seen for testing in India. In overseas markets, it is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 7.8kWh or 18kWh battery pack, offering a claimed WLTP range of 928km and 998km respectively.The Sealion 6 is also under consideration and has been spotted on Indian roads during testing. Globally, it is offered with a naturally aspirated or turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine, mated to 18.3kWh and 26.6kWh battery packs. BYD claims a maximum combined driving range of up to 1,092km.Tata Sierra EV Next on the list is the Tata Sierra EV. Although Tata Motors has not officially announced the launch date for the electric SUV, it is expected to hit the Indian market sometime in June 2026. When launched, the Sierra EV will be the sixth electric offering in India and will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Kia Carens Clavis EV, Maruti e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and Mahindra BE 6. While Tata Motors hasn’t revealed full specifications, the electric SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the Curvv EV. The Sierra EV is likely to use a 55kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor. The claimed driving range is expected to be around 500 km on a single charge. Expected features include Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, ventilated power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, LED lighting and a three-screen dashboard setup.
