The couple, who have been together for almost five years, reflected on finding love unexpectedly, balancing their busy careers and protecting the sanctity of their relationship from public scrutiny.
“I never wanted to fall in love again”
Talking about rediscovering love after her divorce Hrithik RoshanSussanne admitted that she was emotionally shut down before meeting Arslan.“Before I met Arslan, I thought that I would never fall in love. My whole life would be about my work and my children. I would be in this “emotional drama-free” zone,” he told HELLO! IndiaHowever, things changed quickly after meeting Arslan.“Then I met her, and I remember how everything changed in my head. I felt very comfortable, as if we had known each other all our lives, like a karmic connection,” said Sussanne.He also described Arslan as a “miracle” and “a blessing” in his life.
Arslan Goni about keeping their relationship private
Although the couple shares glimpses of holidays and celebrations online, Arslan admitted that he prefers to keep their relationship very personal.“For me, this bond is sacred, and that’s why I don’t speak publicly,” he said.Talking about how they maintain a balance in their relationship, Arslan added, “We’ve found a beautiful balance where we’re not completely in front of each other and we’re not overpowering each other.”Sussanne echoed the sentiment and revealed that they consciously protect their relationship from outside negativity.“When I knew that I wanted this connection for the rest of my life, I said to him: ‘I will never allow an outside force to enter into our solidarity.’ It’s important to have that magnetic protection for a pair,” he shared.
“My boys think Arslan is a cool influence”
Sussanne explained how her sons, Hrehaan and Hredaan, gradually bonded with Arslan over the years.“Hrehaan and Hredaan are like my best friends,” she said, recalling how she had introduced Arslan to them after dating for a while.“I told my guys, ‘I met someone I really connect with, and I want you to meet him. Let me know what you think.’ Then we spent this nice evening together.’Over time the relationship evolved naturally.“They think Arslan is a ‘cool’ influence in my life,” Sussanne said, adding that her sons now ask Arslan for style advice on their outfits.Arslan also reflected on watching the boys grow up over the years. “There are many sweet nuances in our relationship. It’s very good between us, but I won’t say more because it’s very personal,” he shared.
‘If you’re in love, you make time’
The couple also talked about managing their time despite their busy schedules. As Sussanne runs her own interior design business and Arslan continues to build his acting career, they make a conscious effort to stay connected.“We don’t live together yet, but we travel together. We try to spend the weekends sharing the bond of life,” said Sussanne.Arslan added, “When two people are in love, they manage to find time. Someone who claims to be in love but doesn’t find time for their partner… That’s nonsense, not love!”Also, even on days when they cannot physically meet, they make sure to stay emotionally connected through frequent calls and conversations.
