The university said that students who want to use the facility have to inform their respective principals or heads of departments through email.In its statement, the university said, “Students who could not appear for the examination on May 28, 2026 due to Eid-ul-Zha will have the option to appear for the examination after July 4, 2026. Eligible students should email their principal/head of department to avail this option.”

Students asked colleges to be informed through email

DU has clarified that only those students who formally inform their colleges or departments through email will be able to use the special examination arrangements.The university has advised the students to contact their principals or heads of departments as early as possible to avoid any confusion regarding the examination process later.

The change in the date of Eid-ul-Adha increased the worries of the exams.

The announcement comes after the change in the schedule of Eid-ul-Adha or Bak-Eid holidays in many parts of the country.Earlier, the festival was expected to be celebrated on May 27 in many areas. However, religious authorities later confirmed that the moon, which marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, was not sighted in many places on the expected evening.Eid Al-Zhaha is now being celebrated on May 28 in most parts of India after the revised moon sighting was confirmed. The change caused concern among students whose university exams were scheduled on the same day.
