NEET Paper Lake 2026: NEET UG 2026, the national medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH programmes, is under investigation following allegations that a “guess paper” circulated ahead of the exam had questions closely matching the original paper. The Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) is investigating the case related to the material which was allegedly leaked ahead of the May 3, 2026 exam.According to investigators, the alleged question set was circulating among NEET candidates from 15 days to a month before the exam. The document allegedly contained around 410 questions, out of which around 120 questions from the chemistry section were identical to the exam paper, officials said.600 marks questions under examinationInvestigators have probed claims that questions of about 600 marks out of a total of 720 were allegedly accessible to some candidates before the exam. Rajasthan Police SOG Additional Director General Vishal Bansal said the agency is verifying whether the circulation of the material is linked to any systematic wrongdoing.Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) Additional Director General (ADG) Vishal Bansal said, “Regarding the various misconceptions about the NEET exam, let me clarify one point: There is a Gist paper containing around 410 questions. Out of these 410 questions, it is alleged that around 10 questions are reported in Section 12 of the exam. The alleged paper was already circulating among students; it It started reaching 15 days or a month before the actual exam. Therefore, our investigation is currently focused on determining whether there has been any fraudulent or criminal activity based on this alleged paper. We are actively looking into this matter and are currently engaged in the investigation process. No, as of now, we have not made any arrests of any kind,” Vishal Bansal said in a statement to ANI.A network trail was traced across Kerala and Rajasthan.Initial findings suggest that the alleged question bank originated from a medical student from Churu currently studying in Kerala. Sources close to the probe said the material was sent to an associate in Sikar on May 1 before it was handed over to the operator of the paying guest facility.From there, it was allegedly circulating among students, counselors and aspirants in various coaching-related networks in Rajasthan and other states. Investigators are examining the entire chain of transmission and identifying each handler involved in the distribution process.Alleged sales and digital circulation under investigationThe SOG is also investigating claims that the document was sold at different prices before examination. According to sources, copies were reportedly sold for £500,000 two days before the test, while the price reportedly dropped to $30,000 the night before the test.Authorities also recovered messages marked “multiple forwarded” from the seized mobile phones, indicating repeated digital sharing of content by multiple groups.Multiple arrests and NTA’s responseThe Special Operation Group has arrested 13 suspects from Dehradun, Sikar and Jhunjhunu in the last four days. Most of those detained are reportedly associated with career counseling and admission guidance services. Among them is Rakesh Mandoria from Sekar, who ran a consultancy office near a coaching institute on Piprali Road.The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts NEET UG, said it received information about the alleged irregularities on May 7 and shared the information with central agencies for further scrutiny thereafter. The agency has advised the candidates to avoid rumours, and wait for the confirmed results as the investigation continues.
