Shakira and Burna Boy have collaborated for the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, “Dai Dai”.The song combines Afrobeats and Latin rhythms in a multilingual pop track. In one part of the song, the singer mentions several football playing nations.“Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia,” Shakira sings. “Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.”After the first chorus, Shakira and Burna Boy sing separate verses before reuniting for a duet.The release comes just days after FIFA announced that Shakira, Madonna and BTS will headline the tournament’s first final halftime show at MetLife Stadium on July 19. The lineup was curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million to help children access education and football.Last week, Shakira shared a teaser of ‘Dai Dai’ on social media. In the clip, she is seen dancing in the Maracana Stadium while singing part of the opening verse.“Here in this place / You belong,” he sang. “What once broke you / made you stronger.”The World Cup will be hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico and will be held in June and July.
