Rishabh Pant Lucknow Supergiants have been fined Rs 12 lakh after being found guilty of maintaining a slow over rate during their IPL 2026 clash. Chennai Super Kings At the Ekna Stadium in Lucknow.As the captain of the franchise, Pant is responsible for ensuring that the team completes its 20 overs within the stipulated time limit. However, LSG failed to meet the required over-rate during the match, leading to disciplinary action by the IPL Governing Council.The IPL confirmed that Pant breached Article 2.22 of the tournament’s code of conduct, which deals with at least over-rate offences. As it was Lucknow’s first such offense of the season, Pant was fined Rs 12 lakh.In an official statement, the IPL said:“Rishabh Pant, captain, Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) has been fined as his team maintained a slow over-rate during match no. 59th match of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Friday against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Bharat Ratnashree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekna Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.The statement further explained:“As this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offences, Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 12 lakh.”Here is the list of captains penalized for slow over rate in IPL 2026:
