He said: “That character is personal because I was influenced by my mother, not that my mother was crazy, she wasn’t satanic, but I don’t want anyone else to play my mother, so if they’re going to do it, you’re going to do it with me.“He then said that another reason the project is happening is due to his and Perkins’ good friendship. When asked what the second film will entail, Cage shared that he’s still in the dark about it, just like everyone else. “I don’t know what the story is, and I haven’t met the new Paramount,” he commented.Many details about the upcoming film have not been revealed; however, according to the report, the estimated release date of ‘Longlegs’ has been set at January 14, 2028. It will also not be a sequel to the first film, and will instead be set in the same universe as ‘Longlegs’.
