SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited Indian epic ‘Varanasi’ is once again grabbing headlines as a behind-the-scenes picture. Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu compilation of a dance sequence has surfaced online.

The two viral pictures show Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu posing next to celebrity choreographer Bosco Martis, signaling the end of what will be a showstopper song. One photo shows Mahesh and Bosco together inside the actor’s vanity van, while another captures Priyanka on set with the choreographer.Interestingly, the dance sequence has a funny back story. Priyanka put her only condition before signing the film, a full dance number. According to a Screen Rant Plus report, she asked Rajamouli, “Will you make me dance?” on their first call and later joking that he “shouldn’t have asked” because the choreography was much more demanding than expected. Mahesh Babu, who plays the lead role of Rudhra, said, “Because of you, I have to do it too,” while hailing the number as a highlight of the film.

The official title was unveiled at the Globetrotter event in Hyderabad on 15 November 2025, marking Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra’s first on-screen collaboration. The story follows Rudhra as the city of Varanasi faces the threat of an asteroid.Rajamouli movie has confirmed the extracts from Ramayana. Speaking to Polygon, he said, “All my films are inspired by the epics of (Lord) Rama,” adding that this time he has the chance to adapt an episode live and present it in a new way.The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist. It is mounted on a grand scale and is expected to be one of the most expensive films in India with a budget of between 1 billion and 1.3 billion euros. ‘Varanasi’ is slated to release on April 7, 2027.
