It has been a year since businessman Sunjay Kapur passed away. He passed away last year on June 12 and his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur paid a touching tribute to him on social media. Remembering her late husband, Priya reflects on the influence he continues to have in their lives, despite his absence.It featured a photo of Sunjay who shared a heartfelt message along with a touching message dedicated to his memory. “A year without you. Still first thought in the morning and last at night,” Priya wrote.The tribute went on to celebrate Sunjay’s spirit, achievements and the values he left behind. He added: “It’s been a year since you left, but your presence continues to guide us every day. You have never believed in standing still. You took on life with energy, curiosity and conviction, inspiring those around you to dream more, work harder and give more of themselves.”The message also read: “Skonki loved and forever remembered for the values you lived, the lives you touched and the love you so generously gave. Your love continues to be our strength. Your memory continues to be our blessing.”The note was signed, “Mrs. Rani Kapur and Mrs. Priya Kapur and family.” The tribute comes amid a legal battle between Priya Sachdev Kapur and Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, over her estimated Rs 30,000 crore estate. The dispute surfaced soon after Sunjay’s death and has been going on for the past year. Sunjay Kapur, who was the chairman of auto components giant Sona Comstar and was earlier married to an actress. Karisma KapoorHe died in London on June 12, 2025, while playing polo. He was 53 years old. While early reports suggested he had suffered a cardiac arrest, other accounts speculated that anaphylactic shock may have played a role. His mother, Rani Kapur, publicly expressed doubts about the circumstances of his death and hinted at a possible “transnational conspiracy”. However, British medical authorities concluded in August that Sunjay had died of natural causes. The joint note signed by Priya and Rani may suggest that they have settled their differences with each other.For those who did not know, at the time of his death, Sunjay was married to Priya Sachdev Kapur. The couple tied the knot in 2017 and share a son together, Azarias Kapur. Together, they also raised Safira Chatwal, Priya’s daughter from her marriage to American host and actor Vikram Chatwal. Priya and Vikram ended their marriage in 2011. Sunjay was earlier married to Karisma Kapoor and their divorce was finalized in 2016.
