'Peddi' actor Ram Charan recalls PM Narendra Modi's meeting;

Actor Ram Charan recently spoke about his interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a promotional event for his upcoming film ‘Peddi’ in Delhi.The actor attended the event along with Janhvi Kapoor and kicked off the conversation that had earlier sparked curiosity among fans and social media users.According to Hindustan Times, Ram Charan says his discussion with the Prime Minister revolved around cinema, peoples and India’s changing identity through storytelling.Recalling the meeting, the ‘Peddi’ actor said, “The last time I met our honorable Prime Minister Modi ji in Delhi, he asked me what Peddi was talking about. I told him it’s about an evolved India and empowering our people. Then Modi ji shared a story from West Bengal where a few decades ago a small village football player was representing India, and today more than 85 people in that village were playing football.”

‘Peddi’ rooted in the rural backdrop

At the event, Ram Charan also spoke about the growing trend in South Indian cinema, where filmmakers are increasingly exploring stories related to the peoples, traditions and culture of the region.As the actor explained, many recent films are moving away from urban narratives and focusing on rooted storytelling.Talking about this change, Ram Charan said, “The films we are making in the South today are deeply rooted in our culture and soil. They are not city-based, but set in villages and villages. Our archery team in India has a lot of tribal players because they naturally possess that talent. It’s great when village talent is recognised.”‘Peddi’ is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and is being promoted as a sports action entertainer with an emotional atmosphere and a rural setting.

Foreign bookings for ‘Peddi’

Even before its release, ‘Peddi’ has started showing tremendous traction in overseas markets, especially in North America.According to the first trade reports shared by Money Control, the film has already sold nearly 17,000 tickets in the US market from approximately 1,395 shows.Pre-booking is said to have collected around USD 481.5K in the region so far.Including bookings for the North American premiere, Peddi has surpassed nearly US$533,000 in advance sales, with a total of approximately 18,900 tickets sold.Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi has a strong supporting cast. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar plays a pivotal role in the film along with Divyenndu and Jagapathi Babu.
