gave Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Today 29th May 2026 CBSE will open application window for re-examination and verification of answer sheets of class 12. Students who have already received the scanned copies of their answer sheets can now proceed with the next step of the process through the official portal.This year, CBSE has introduced its first fully digital revaluation system for the Class 12 board exams. The board’s new online system is being implemented on a large scale and covers around 1.7 lakh students and around 9.8 lakh answer sheets. According to official information, this process involves about 40 crore scanned pages.
CBSE introduced digital revaluation system
The digital system has been developed with technical and operational support from institutions including IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and four PSU banks. The move aims to make the post-result process more transparent, accessible and accountable to students.So far, nearly 4 lakh students have accessed around 1.1 lakh scanned answer sheets to verify their marks or identify possible discrepancies.The government has also admitted that some problems and inconsistencies were reported during the process. However, the authorities have assured the students that all concerns will be addressed with full accountability.

As per the earlier notification issued by the board, the link to apply for verification and re-evaluation is expected to be activated on the official portal today.Students who have already downloaded the scanned copies of their answer sheets will be able to login using their existing credentials and apply:

- Review the answers
- Both verification and re-evaluation

CBSE Class 12 Revaluation 2026: Fee Details
Candidates applying for re-examination or verification process have to pay the prescribed fee online.The fee structure shared in the latest updates is as follows:Step 1: Obtaining scanned copy of answer sheets – Rs.100 per subjectStep 2: Verification of observed marks/problems – Rs.100 per subjectStep 3: Re-evaluation/rechecking – Rs.25 per questionEarlier in the notification various fee structures were mentioned. Students are advised to carefully check the latest fee details available on the official portal before submitting the applications.
Important instructions for students
CBSE has issued several important guidelines that students must follow before applying for revaluation.Re-evaluation will be allowed only after obtaining the scanned copies.Students can request re-evaluation only for those subjects for which they had already obtained the scanned copies of the answer sheet. Requests for re-evaluation for this subject will not be accepted without a request for a scanned copy.There is no limit on the number of questions.There is no restriction on the number of questions for which students can retest. Candidates can apply for multiple questions in multiple subjects after paying the required fee.Re-evaluation is limited to selected questions.CBSE clarified that re-examination will be conducted only for specific questions selected by the student. During this process, there will be no fresh compilation or review of other responses.Symptoms may increase or decrease.The board has also said that the marks awarded may increase or decrease during re-examination. The final decision taken by CBSE after the review process will be considered binding.
