Breaking his silence, Farhan Akhtar has admitted that the last few years have been unpredictable.Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, he said, “A lot has happened in the last two years. You learn to expect the unexpected. You can’t take anything for granted until it’s in cinema.”He added that this phase has been more challenging than before, hinting at the obstacles the project has faced.

Rs 40 crore loss claim after Ranveer’s exit

After Ranveer Singh’s much publicized exit, Farhan’s Excel Entertainment banner reportedly approached the Producers Guild of India, claiming losses of nearly Rs 40 crore due to the actor’s last-minute exit.On the other hand, Ranveer accused the makers of “professionalism”, accusing Farhan Akhtar of being busy with other commitments instead of focusing on Don 3. It was also reported that the actor was approached again after the success of his last film Dhurandhar.Amidst the back-and-forth, Farhan was also said to have submitted documents to the Guild to address Ranveer’s concerns about the script. The filmmaker pointed out that he was keen to get the actor into the iconic franchise, following in the footsteps of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Despite the uncertainty, Farhan made it clear that Don 3 is far from being ruled out.Describing it as one of the “unbelievable stories” he wants to tell, he says the film still holds great creative value for him and remains very much in his mind.

“That’s why he’ll sail me”

The filmmaker also addressed the challenges surrounding his other directorial venture Jee Le Zaraa, which has faced several delays.“Every time I go to work I’ve worked with enough people who know what kind of person I am and what I bring to the table, and that’s what’s going to get me through,” he said.
