National Institute of Design (NID) has announced the counseling schedule for NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026 on its official website. The institute has also released the provisional offer letter for Master of Design (MDes) Round 1 Counseling on 21 May 2026.Meanwhile, NID DAT Bachelor of Design (BDes) Main Result 2026 will be declared on or before 28 May 2026. After the declaration of results, the counseling process will start for the shortlisted candidates of BDes.Candidates can check all the updates on the official website admissions.nid.edu.
NID DAT 2026 Counseling Dates
As per the official schedule, the counseling registration process for BDes admissions will start from the date of declaration of results and will continue till 31st May 2026.Candidates shortlisted for counseling have to upload and submit important documents, including:
- Educational credentials
- Birth certificate
- Valid photo ID proof
- Other Required Documents
The last date for document submission is 31 May 2026.The seat allotment result for NID DAT 2026 counseling will be declared on 9 June 2026. Candidates who have been allotted seats have to confirm their admission and pay the token fee by 11th June 2026.
NID DAT 2026 Counseling Process
Only those candidates who qualify both the stages of the NID entrance exam – Prelims and Mains – will be eligible to participate in the counseling process.The NID DAT counseling process includes:
- Online registration
- Fill in the selection
- Document verification
- Confirmation of seat
Seats will be allotted on the basis of:
- NID DAT Main Score
- Category of Candidate
- Campus preferences are submitted during counselling.
- Seat availability
As per the revised admission process of 2026, only NID DAT Main scores will be considered for final admission.Important Instructions for CandidatesCandidates should report for counseling with all the required documents within the given timeline. If a candidate fails to complete the process or does not report for counselling, the allotted seat will be canceled and offered to the next eligible candidate of the same category.
