The singer, in an interview, shared that Lee Ann Womack’s hit song ‘I Hope You Dance’ had a special meaning on their wedding day.
Nick Jonas reveals his special song request
Speaking to the crowd, Jonas explained that the song was chosen for a very personal reason. “It’s a great song,” he said, adding: “And my mom [Denise] and I did our first mother-son dance to that song and it reminds me of my childhood.”
Reflecting on the moment, he added, “It was good. It’s a classic.”
The mother-son dance came after he shared his first dance with wife Priyanka to Roberta Flack’s classic ballad ‘The First Time Ever Saw Your Face’. Pictures and videos from the celebrations saw Nick and Priyanka packing on the PDA as they gathered around and cheered on the guests.
Nick Jonas shares his ULTIMATE wedding song
Earlier this year, Jonas also revealed what he considers to be his final wedding playlist song. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at the premiere of ‘Power Ballad’ at the SXSW Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas, the singer named the Bryan Adams classic as her favorite wedding anthem. “There are so many. One that I go to all the time is probably ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It for You’ by Bryan Adams,” Jonas said.
‘Power Ballad’ synopsis and release date
Jonas is currently promoting ‘Power Ballad’ which arrives on June 5th. The John Carney-directed musical comedy stars Jonas as Danny Wilson, a famous singer whose life intersects with Ricken, a struggling wedding singer played by Paul Rudd.
According to the film’s official synopsis, “Rick (Rudd), a failed wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny makes Rick’s song a hit, Rick sets out to regain the recognition he believes he deserves,” according to an official synopsis.
