Mini India has finally launched the new Mini Cooper S GP-inspired edition in the Indian market, priced at Rs 58.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-booking is already open. Interested customers can book the car exclusively at their nearest mini dealership. The new Mini Cooper S GP-inspired edition will be limited to just 30 units, and deliveries will begin this month. The Mini Cooper S GP-inspired edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 204hp and 300Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The hatch accelerates from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 242kph.In terms of design, the MINI Cooper S GP Inspired Edition gets a dual-tone finish in ‘Legend Grey’ exterior with a ‘Chilli Red’ roof and ORVMs. The model also features GP-inspired decals on the sides, while the C-pillar bears each car’s individual unit number to mark its limited run status. Based on the JCW pack, the edition retains sporty design elements such as a revised bumper, a rear spoiler, a black rear diffuser, a centrally positioned exhaust outlet and black alloy wheels. Red highlights on the bumpers, side sills and wheel center caps further distinguish it from the standard JCW Pack-equipped Cooper S.
The special edition carries the red and gray striped theme from the bonnet to the sides, complete with ‘GP Inspired’ graphics. The ‘1 of 30’ badge on the C-Pillar highlights its limited production run. Exterior updates also include 18-inch JCW alloy wheels with red center caps, a roof-mounted spoiler, side winglets and a revised rear diffuser. The model further gets welcome and goodbye light patterns with customizable daytime running lamps and LED tail lamps.On the inside, the cabin draws several features from the JCW Pack version. The dashboard gets a black finish with red accents, while the JCW steering wheel adds a classy touch. Recycled fabric has been used on the dashboard and door panels. The JCW sports seats are finished in viscose black upholstery with red contrast stitching, while ‘GP Inspired’ branding appears on the door strips. The floor mats also feature ‘1 of 30’ badging to reinforce the exclusivity of the edition.In terms of features, it gets a 9.4-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with features like a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting and connected car technology. Other equipment includes a Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, head-up display and over-the-air software update capability. It also gets a heated steering wheel and electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function. Safety features include Level 1 ADAS, electronic stability control and a rearview camera, in addition to several driver assistance and passenger protection systems.
