KS Chithra was born on 27 July 1963 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. As a child, he was very close to the world of music because his father was a musician. He was trained in Carnatic music from a young age and shared his father’s love and respect for classical music.Over the years, Chithra continued to work and hone her skills until she got her big break in the 1980s. He was discovered by renowned music director MG Radhakrishnan, and the rest is history. Over the years, he has worked extensively in the music industry. He mainly focuses on creating music for Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Not only that, he has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry including Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, MM Keeravani and many more. Apart from his music, he is also known for his calm and simple personality, often preferring to stay out of the limelight and let his music speak for itself.
