According to Sacnilk estimates, the film earned Rs 31 lakhs on Day 5 in India. The latest figure reflects a sharp drop of 66.7 percent compared to the previous day’s collection of Rs 93 lakh. The film has been facing constant number of slowdowns for the past few days.
The collection in India exceeds 8 crores
Including the 5th day figures, ‘Kattalan’ has now reached 8.04 crores in net collections in India. The gross collection in India is currently Rs 9.25 crore.The latest business has come from the 1,100 shows that run through the halls. Among the available language versions, Malayalam has been the biggest contributor.The Malayalam version earned Rs 20 lakh on day 5. The Telugu version added Rs 11 lakh to the overall earnings. Although the film crossed the 8 crore mark domestically, the pace of growth has slowed considerably compared to the initial days.
The occupation of ‘Kattalan’ continues at the bottom
The Malayalam version registered an overall occupancy of 11.40 percent on Day 5. The night shows had relatively higher attendance and had an occupancy rate of 16.58 percent. Morning performances were lower and remained at only 2.50 percent. Evening and evening shows had moderate numbers of 9.25 percent and 8.17 percent respectively.The Telugu version fared slightly better in the overall occupancy. It reached 12.03 percent.Morning shows stood at 9.30 percent, while afternoon and evening shows stood at 9.40 percent and 8.70 percent. Night shows were once again the strongest period, with 13.90 percent occupancy.Directed by Paul George, ‘Kattalan’ is billed as an action thriller and stars Antony Varghese in the lead role.The supporting cast has several actors in important characters.
