‘Kara’, starring Dhanush and directed by Vignesh Raja, has started garnering new attention after its OTT release on Netflix. The crime thriller, which hit theaters on April 30, arrived on Netflix on May 28 and immediately became the talk of online audiences. The film had earlier received mixed reviews during its theatrical run, with many viewers calling the script slow and emotionally heavy.However, after its digital release, several viewers who skipped the film in theaters have now had positive reactions on social media. Many fans now say that the film deserved much more appreciation when it was released theatrically.

Fans say the negative reviews made them lose ‘Kara’ in theatres

One viewer wrote emotionally, “How have we failed to celebrate this movie? I stopped watching it after seeing the online reviews, but from start to finish, the movie was absolutely brilliant. One of the best films of the year.”Another fan apologized directly to the directors and said, “Sorry Mr. D and Vignesh Raja, I missed a very solid film due to fake negative reviews and now I feel guilty. Good films deserve strong word of mouth and Kara deserved a better audience.”The film’s interval block and bank robbery sequence are now receiving special praise from the audience online. One fan posted: “What a set up man!” while another review said: “The period before the bank robbery period is the stage to watch out for.” Many viewers also appreciated the emotional touch mixed with crime drama elements.

‘Kara’ OTT audience remains divided but curious

‘Kara’ had an ensemble cast of Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Jayaram. He composed the film’s music GV Prakash Kumar. Mounted on a budget with high expectations, many believed that the film could cross Rs 100 crore worldwide. However, ‘Kara’ ended its theatrical run with around 50 crores at the box office.After OTT’s response, discussions about the film have once again flared up online. Meanwhile, Dhanush is working on his next project with director Rajkumar Periasamy, which also reportedly has Mammootty in an important role.
