New Delhi: Praful Hinge announced himself on the grandest stage at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday by decimating Rajasthan Royals’ top order and throwing their run chase into complete disarray. The young pacer broke the backbone of RR’s batting by removing three of his top batsmen for ducks in his very first over.Praful Hinge dismissed Vibhu Suryavanshi (golden duck), Dhruv Jurel (duck) and Luan Dre Pretorius (duck) in a sensational start. In a script that felt straight out of a fairy tale, the Nagpur-born bowler became the first player in IPL history to take three wickets in the opening over of an innings.Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 216 for 6 thanks to skipper Ishan Kishan’s 44-ball 91 and bowled out Rajasthan Royals for 159 runs in 19 overs. The defeat marked RR’s first loss of the season.Heng looked emotional after receiving the Player of the Match award and revealed that he dreamed of dismissing Suryavanshi on the very first ball in the IPL.“(Envisioned such a debut?) I thought about it. Last year, I wrote somewhere that whenever I play my first match, I must take four or five wickets. And I wanted to dominate the powerplay as much as possible. I believe in it. I don’t know about others, but I believe. Then when I was 13, I told my father that I wanted to join a club. He refused a couple of times saying that I was too young. But somehow, things took off from there. After that, I just kept playing. It feels great to be standing on this stage. I want to dedicate this award to my family. They have sacrificed a lot for me. I just want to say, their hard work and sacrifices mean everything,” Heng said after the match.Henge finished with figures of 4/34 from his four overs.Suryavanshi was hit for pace on the first ball and the resulting top edge went straight up, allowing wicketkeeper Salil Arora to complete a simple catch. Henge then trapped Dhruv Jural with a delivery that landed outside off and drifted back in, taking an inside edge before hitting the stumps.Pretorius tried to strike but failed to clear Nitish Reddy at deep backward square leg, ending a historic opening that stunned the opposition.“The best was Suryavanshi’s first wicket, because he was in form. I had already told some people that I would get him out on the first ball, either off the bouncer or somehow. I just wanted his wicket on the first ball. That was the plan,” Hung said.“Also, our bowling coach Varun Bhai helped me a lot. And I am thankful to everyone who supported me. (Injury in the past) Everything is fine now. I want to thank MRF for taking good care of me. When I was there, physio Naveen sir took care of me very well. Since I have reached this stage today, I also want to thank him.”With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad moved up to fourth place in the points table and will next face Chennai Super Kings on April 18.
