Taking to Instagram stories, Imran shared his thoughts on Dacoit, applauding the film and its cast. He congratulated the team and highlighted the performances of Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in particular. “Congratulations to the Dacoit team! Adivi Sesh is charming, sultry and vulnerable in a film free of toxic tropes. Mrunal Thakur goes beautifully from motherly tenderness to raw poignancy,” he wrote.

He appreciated Imran’s performances Atul Kulkarni and Prakash Rajwhile stating that his favorite was his sister Zayn Marie. “Atul Kulkarni and Prakash Raj amazing as always. But the star for me is my darling Zayn Marie…watching you on the big screen made big bro so proud,” he wrote.

Imran Khan speaks out against toxic masculinity
Recently, Imran grabbed attention for speaking out against Bollywood’s tendency to promote misogyny and toxic masculinity. During a Reddit AMA, he was asked about the idea of ”alpha males” in Hindi films and shared his thoughts on masculinity. “I’m disturbed by the increasing prevalence of misogyny and toxic masculinity in our films, and in the world in general. I fear that men are distancing themselves from these conversations because, on an individual level, they feel guilty for the actions of others…and because of that, these restrictive definitions of masculinity are also missing the point that men are also harmed. True strength lies in emotional vulnerability,” she wrote.
