Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrikar The recent on-field brawl involving teenage batting sensation Vibhu Suryavanshi has weighed in, saying he would have dropped the youngster from India A’s latest match against Afghanistan A as a disciplinary measure.The incident took place earlier this week during the fourth match of the tri-nation A series between India A and Sri Lanka A. Tensions rose after Sri Lanka A’s victory in the Super Over. Television footage showed Suryavanshi charging towards the Sri Lankan players and pushing Vaishan Hilambay after the end of the match.Later reports revealed that Holmbidge sledged the 15-year-old throughout the series. Nevertheless, Manjrikar maintained that physical confrontation on the cricket field was unacceptable and there should be consequences.Manjrekar wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “If I was India’s coach or manager, I would have dropped Vibhu Suryavanshi for this game vs AFG. The situation escalated when after Sri Lanka A’s victory in the Super Over, Hilambage approached both Suryavanshi and Suryanish Shadege. The clash escalated before Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Niroshan Dikwila stepped in and helped calm the tempers.
