Hyundai Motor India reported domestic sales of 47,837 units in May 2026, up 9.1% year-on-year. Exports stood at 13,300 units, taking the company’s monthly sales to 61,137 units, up 4.1 percent from May 2025. The automaker also recorded growth in the first two months of FY27. Domestic sales during April and May reached 99,739 units, up 13 percent from 88,235 units sold during the same period last fiscal.The latest figures show that Hyundai has maintained its growth momentum in the Indian market. Domestic volumes were around the 48,000 unit mark, while exports contributed over 13,000 units during the month. With positive momentum at the start of FY27, Hyundai is strengthening its presence in the passenger vehicle segment as it prepares for future product introductions and business expansion.Commenting on the May 2026 sales results, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said: “Hyundai Motor India continued its strong momentum for the year in May, achieving 9.1% YoY growth with domestic sales of 47,837 units and total sales of 61,137 units, up 4% in the first two months. FY27, HMIL Domestic Sales 13% growth to 99,739 units, as against 88,235 units in the same period of FY26.“A significant portion of Hyundai’s volume comes from its SUV range, which spans multiple segments including the Creta, Alcazar, Venue and Exeter. Looking ahead, the automaker is gearing up to expand its product portfolio with new launches, including electric offerings that are expected to play a major role in its long-term growth plans for India.
