Honda Cars India is gearing up for a major product update in the country, with the Honda City and the all-new Honda ZR-V set to debut on May 22.
Honda City Facelift ZR-V India debut: All you need to know
Starting with the City facelift, this will be the second update for the current generation model. The changes are expected to be subtle on the outside, with minor modifications to the headlamps, tail lamps, bumper and alloy wheels. The overall silhouette of the sedan is likely to remain unchanged.However, the cabin is expected to see more significant upgrades. Honda is likely to introduce a large touchscreen infotainment system with a fully digital instrument cluster. Features like ventilated front seats, a power driver’s seat and a 360-degree camera can also be added.
Under the hood, no major changes are expected. The City will likely continue with its 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces around 119 bhp and 145 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT. A strong hybrid version is also expected to follow, offering a combined output of 124 bhp with an e-CVT gearbox.Along with the sedan, Honda will introduce the ZR-V as an all-new nameplate for India. It will come as a full CBU import and will be the brand’s flagship SUV in the market. Design-wise, the ZR-V takes on a more rounded and urban crossover look. Globally, it measures around 4,568 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,620 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm, and the India-spec model is expected to have similar dimensions.Powering the ZR-V will likely be a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder hybrid setup producing around 180 hp, mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission. On the features front, the SUV is expected to be equipped with a large freestanding touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, powered tailgate, wireless charging and a comprehensive ADAS suite.
