Malayalam horror fantasy film ‘Gu’ is gearing up for its digital release almost two years after its theatrical release. Starring Saiju Kurup and child actor Deva Nandha in pivotal roles, the film blends mystery, folklore and family drama in the backdrop of Kerala.

The makers have officially announced that Gu will start streaming on ManoramaMAX from June 19, 2026 onwards.The announcement was made through a promotional video featuring Saiju Kurup. Inviting the audience to watch the film, the actor said, “Welcome. The horror thriller family film ‘U’ directed by Manu Radhakrishnan will start rolling from June 19. Please watch and enjoy.”At the center of the story is Minna, an eight-year-old girl who gets involved in a mystery related to her ancestral home.As he begins to uncover hidden secrets, the family faces an ancient curse that has plagued them for years.‘U’ is written and directed by Manu Radhakrishnan, who conceived the project as a blend of horror and fantasy.It is directed by Saiju Kurup along with Deva Nandha and also features actor Niranjan in an important role.
Theater trip and re-opening
‘Gu’ first hit theaters on May 17 (2024). The film later returned to theaters in a re-release on July 18 of the same year.The film received rave reviews from various viewers online. One review said: “Nice movie, try not to miss the theater experience”The reviewer further shared, “I wanted to see this movie in its initial release but couldn’t as it didn’t release in any theaters near me. So I thought I missed something big. Then it got a re-release.”The same review continued: “If I missed it in the theater, it would be a big loss for me. The plot is good and interesting. The acting is really good. I hope people know a lot more about this movie, because they didn’t put a lot of thought into the movie and most people are not ready to see it, people should change.”
