One of the big things about the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 22 finale was that lead actors Kim Raver and Kevin McKidd would officially say goodbye to their characters. Although it has been said that they will appear on the show from time to time if needed, the farewell was still a bittersweet experience. In a recent interview, showrunner Meg Marinis talked about the finale of the hit show’s 22nd season, along with what it means for some of the show’s characters.
Meg Marinis Explains ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 22 Finale
Speaking with Deadline, Marinis was tight-lipped about the cliffhanger of the season 22 finale and what’s in store for the characters in future seasons. While talking about Meredith and Nick’s surprise proposal, the showrunner said that it was a possibility, even though Meredith never wanted it after what happened with Derek. He added: “I think marriage isn’t something that’s ingrained in him, but clearly, when he heard the story about how he wanted to get married in the middle of the season, when his sister came to visit and how his sister took that happy life away from him, I think it got into his head that it’s something he’s always wanted.“Harry Shum Jr. and his character Kwan were also discussed, with his return to the series still a mystery. Marinis said his return is still up for debate, as the character was already fired twice in the last two episodes of season 22. “His fate is still undecided. Blue is scared out of his mind, so we’ll just have to see if we come back in the fall. He doesn’t have a job at Gray Sloan right now, so we’ll have to see what happens,” he concluded.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 22 finale recap

She was in danger, and Bailey had to perform emergency surgery on her at Meredith’s request.Later, Meredith proposes to Nick as he lies in his hospital bed as he recovers in an ode to the first time they met when he was admitted to his hospital. Nick, of course, ends up saying yes, and the surprise proposal ends up being one of the high points of the season finale.Another important event was brought up by Toni, who goes to Amelia’s to tell her that she is falling in love with him, only to find out that Amelia and Cass slept together. Simon and Lucas are also revealed to be sleeping together after Wes told Simon he wanted to go steady with her, bringing the once dormant love triangle into the main space.
