The fan favorite series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ will have its own spinoff. The series will premiere in the 2026-2027 broadcasting season.Creator of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Shonda Rhimes He serves as co-creator and executive producer of the new series alongside Meg Marinis, who has been the showrunner of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ since season 20 in 2024, Variety reports.According to the official listing, the currently untitled hour-long series is “a thrilling drama about a team at a rural medical center in West Texas, their last chance for care before miles to nowhere.”
Ellen Pompeo and Shonda Rhimes join the series
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo is also serving as an executive producer on the spinoff, as is Rhimes’ longtime collaborator Betsy Beers. The spinoff is produced by 20th Television and Shondaland.Aside from the behind-the-scenes team, it is not yet known what connection the new series will have to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and whether Pompeo’s Meredith Gray or other familiar characters will make an appearance at the Texas medical center.
Meg Marinis reacts to the announcement of the new series

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spin-offs
The new series will be the fourth spin-off of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. The famous medical drama, which has just finished its 22nd season, has also given place to ‘Private Practice’ (six seasons from 2007 to 2013), ‘Station 19’ (seven seasons from 2018 to 2024) and ‘Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team’ (six episodes from 2018com).— THE IANSaa/
