Video of an actor Govinda apparently placating a paparazzo after an altercation with his security guard went viral on Tuesday, with many believing he personally apologized to the photographer. Now, the actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has refuted that narrative, saying that Govinda had not apologized for anything and that the security team was doing its job.
Govinda did not apologize to the paparazzo, says the director
Govinda used to attend the grand finale of an event as the chief guest. When he left the hall, a large crowd of fans and paparazzi gathered around him. During the commotion, one of his security guards reportedly pushed video journalist Sohel Fidai as he tried to manage the crowd, sparking a heated argument. Govinda walked in before things escalated further, telling his security guard that the paparazzo was “his friend” and asking everyone to calm down. Now, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha spoke to News9 Live to offer a different version of events, vehemently denying that the actor had apologised. He said, “It was not Govinda’s fault, so why would he apologise? Govinda was participating in a beauty pageant in a restricted area where the paparazzi wanted an interview. The security personnel were just doing their duty.”He added, “The security staff don’t always know who is who at public events. They stopped him, and an argument ensued. Things like that happen. I’ve also been stopped at events before, but there’s no need to create a scene, because they’re just doing their job.”
What did the paparazzo say?
Fidai, the photographer at the center of the clash, confirmed that it started when he was pushed by security guards. However, he had no complaints about the actor. According to the report, “Govinda was warm and friendly, and after all that, he gave me a byte as I got into his car.”
