Actor Edin Rose will play a key role in the next one Rajinikanth Starring ‘Jailer 2’. The actress recently opened up about her struggles in Bollywood, and why she feels happy working in Southern cinema, calling the industry “unfriendly” and criticizing the Hindi film industry for body-shaming.
South cinema made him feel comfortable
While talking to Mid-day, Edin Rose said that he always felt welcome in the Southern film industry. There he shared that people were open to giving opportunities to new actors. Although he is from South India, he said that he continues to learn the languages of the region. As the actor explained, he never felt like an outsider while working there.“I’m basically from South India, but I don’t speak the languages and I’m learning right now. So as a fresher, as a newcomer, I felt they were very open. It was very easy to work with them,” he said.“There was no barrier. There was no segregation or anything like that. I had the talent, I auditioned and got the job. So it’s been pretty smooth,” he added.
Edin Rose on his experience in Bollywood
The actor also spoke about the problems he faced in his early days in Bollywood. The actress revealed that she missed out on projects because of her body type. “I was rejected from some Bollywood projects here because of my body type,” she shared. She explained that she was told to reduce her hips. He said it was realistic because it was part of his bone structure. The actor added that although weight can change, bone structure cannot. “Because I’m on the curvier side and I was told to make my hips smaller,” she said.

In 2023, she made her acting debut in Telugu cinema in the action thriller ‘Ravanasura’ directed by Sudheer Varma, where she appeared alongside Ravi Teja. She was last seen in the Tamil film ‘Love Insurance Kompany’.
