New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings South African all-rounder Dian Forster has been brought in as a replacement. Jamie Overton For the rest of IPL 2026, after the England international is ruled out with a right thigh injury.CSK confirmed the move on Thursday, a day after announcing that Overton would return to the UK for further evaluation and management. “Diane Forster joins squad to replace Jamie Overton,” the franchise posted on social media.
Overton’s exit adds to CSK’s injury woes.
Overton emerged as one of CSK’s most impressive overseas players this season. The all-rounder took 14 wickets and scored 136 runs in 10 matches, playing an important role with the new ball and in the lower middle order.His departure is yet another blow to an already injury-riddled squad. CSK had earlier signed McNeil Noronha as a replacement for injured all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh, while several first-choice players have missed parts of the campaign.The five-time champions have also faced significant spells without Nathan Ellis and Spencer Johnson, while former captain MS Dhoni is yet to feature this season due to a calf problem.

Forster arrives for South Africa with a strong domestic record and experience in five T20Is. A left-arm batsman and right-arm fast bowler, the 24-year-old has scored more than 1,000 first-class runs in List A cricket at an average of over 45 and an average of over 50.In T20s, he has scored 681 runs at a strike rate of over 140, making him a consistent all-round option for CSK as they push for a play-off spot.CSK’s next challenge is against Lucknow Supergiants in Lucknow on May 15, with the franchise hoping Forrester can quickly fill the latest gap in their injury-hit squad.
