Sameer Anjaan on Bollywood’s music crisis
In an interaction with DNA India, Sameer Anjaan spoke about the state of contemporary Bollywood music. Without stopping, he said, “Aaj kal shor bahut badh gaya hai. Sound mein shabd kho gaye hain (These days, the noise has increased so much that words are getting lost in sound).”He noted that lyrics are increasingly being drowned out by loud, obnoxious music, and that imbalance hurts not only individual songs but entire films, given how much music shapes a film’s success.Sameer ended with a stark warning: unless the industry consciously restores the balance between melody and meaningful lyrics, the soul of Hindi film music will fade away.
