Assam HS Result 2026 Declared: Science Rises, Girls Ahead, Arts Dominate Despite Lack

The Assam State School Education Board has officially declared the HS Results 2026 through its website ahsec.assam.gov.in and resultsassam.nic.in, with a pass percentage of 89.79%. Around 3.3 lakh students appeared in the exam. There is a slight decline in performance in arts and commerce, but a notable improvement in science.

Overall Assam HS Result 2026: Arts is the biggest stream.

Art was the major field in Assam. Out of the total figure of 2,41,124, about 1,91,798 students cleared the exam, resulting in a success ratio of 79.54%.The division-wise distribution is:

  • First Division: 54,755
  • Second Division:79,181
  • Third Division: 57,862

This shows that although many students have secured first division marks, most of them are in second division.

Assam HS Science Result 2026: Strongest growth among all streams

Science emerged as the best performing stream of the year both in terms of pass percentage and improvement trend.

Assam HS Commerce results 2026: Stable but with a slight decrease in performance

Commerce saw a slight decline compared to last year’s performance but overall maintained a good record.

  • Pass percentage: 81.13%
  • First Division: 7,787
  • Second division: 5,694
  • The third division: 2,315

Although there have been some minor ups and downs over the years, this particular series has maintained a good first division record.

Assam HS Arts Result 2026: Highest Participation, Moderate Decline

Arts was the largest enrolled stream with maximum number of students appearing in the examination, but the stream saw a slight decline in terms of pass percentage.

The large number of enrollments for this stream makes it very difficult to consistently maintain good academic results year after year.

Gender performance in Assam HS Result 2026: Girls outperform boys in all streams.

  • Boys percent pass: 76.10%

Science streamCommerce stream

  • Girls: 82.67%
  • boy: 80.45%

Professional stream

  • Girls: 76.74%
  • boy: 72.42%

The difference is most pronounced in arts and vocational streams, where girls have a markedly increased performance margin.

Sequential Enrollment Pattern: Arts dominates, followed by Commerce and Science.

Patterns of participation continue to reflect strong academic preferences across sectors:

  • Art: 2,41,124 students (1,41,534 girls; 99,589 boys)
  • Science: 60,667 students (26,474 girls; 34,193 boys)
  • Commerce: 19,469 students (5,945 girls; 13,524 boys)
  • Professional: 1,465 students (602 girls; 863 boys)

Arts continues to be the most preferred stream especially among girls, while boys are more inclined towards science and commerce.
