‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ about the career of Archana Puran Singh
Joining Navjot Singh Sidhu as a judge on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2019 revived Archana’s popularity, although she says it stalled her film career. He told News18, “I haven’t been able to work in films all these years. This time, I got a call. I was asked to travel to Scotland for 25 days. But I couldn’t leave the shooting of Kapil’s show and the film elsewhere. Earlier, when the show aired for a hundred episodes on TV, we used to shoot throughout the year. That’s why I didn’t have time for anything else. I ended up saying no to a lot of movies. And because I said no so many times, people stopped approaching me for acting jobs.’
With ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ streaming on Netflix, Archana is optimistic about a career revival. “Now we shoot season after season. As a result, I don’t have to commit to being in India for the whole year. Now I can travel and shoot for other projects. That’s why I’m so happy that the show is on Netflix,” said Archana.

Recently, Archana took on a humorous yet pivotal role in ‘Toaster’, her second outing Rajkummar Raowho made his debut as a producer on the project. In his words, ‘Toaster’ would not have materialized without their initial collaboration in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’. “Rajkummar saw my work in the video Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala. That was the first time he and I had a working relationship. And that’s how Toaster happened. If I hadn’t worked with him on that film, I might not have been a part of Toaster. And just like how that film gave way to Toaster, I hope that Toaster will give way to at least two more films for me,” he says.
