‘Karakkam’ promises horror, comedy and music
Talking about ‘Karakkam’, Shaun stated that the film combines supernatural elements with humor and music.The actor plays a character called Rani Mariya and explained that the story revolves around a group of ghosts who unexpectedly return to the world of the living.Describing the plot, he said: “It’s a comedy, a light film with the right ghost atmosphere. My character’s name is Rani Mariya, and we’re all ghosts. I don’t want to go into detail about why we’re there, but basically we want to go back, and suddenly we’re called into the real world. We’re terrified of these two characters. Sreenath Bhasi and Pravin, and we are literally being forced to return. The story explores how we came back to life and what our backstory is like. These two characters take us back to where we came from, and from there the whole journey unfolds. It’s a funny and light comedy.’He also expressed enthusiasm for the film’s musical aspects and retro-inspired style.Reacting to the film, which is being promoted as Malayalam cinema’s first horror-comedy musical, Shaun said, “I enjoyed learning the dance sequences. It has a strong ’80s vibe, very Michael Jackson-era. The costumes, the choreography and everything about the dance was exciting. Music is the main part of the film. ‘Drishyam 3’ continues its impressive run worldwide
Meanwhile, Jeethu Joseph-directed ‘Drishyam 3’ continues to post strong numbers at the worldwide box office despite its second-day drop.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 11.05 crore on Day 2 in India after earning Rs 15.85 crore on its opening day. The second day’s figure was a 30.3% drop.The film was screened in 4,886 shows on Day 2 compared to 5,506 shows on Day 1. Overall occupancy dropped from 51.3 percent to 44.5 percent.Despite the drop, Drishyam 3 has accumulated 26.90 crores in India net collections and 31.18 crores in India gross collections in two days.The foreign market remains a strong force. The film earned 20 crores overseas on Day 2, taking its overseas total to 45 crores.As a result, the worldwide gross collection has reached an impressive 76.18 crores.Kerala continues to lead the film’s run. The Malayalam version alone contributed Rs 9.85 crore on Day 2 and had a strong overall occupancy of 61 percent, with the night shows touching 68.33 percent occupancy.Meanwhile, ‘Drishyam 3’ stars Mohanlal, Meena, Esther Anil, Ansiba Hassan, Siddique and others in pivotal roles.
