Mohini Mani passed away in Chennai on Saturday morning at the age of 89.The family later said that he died peacefully in his sleep after suffering from health-related problems.The family’s statement read: “Our mother, Mohini Mani, passed away early this morning in her sleep after declining health. She was 89 years old. We are grateful for the care and support provided to her and our family by various medical professionals over the past few years.”

The family also asked for privacy in mourning and shared details about last rites. The statement added, “His last rites will be private and family affairs. All who have known the pain of losing a parent or elderly loved one will respect his wish to grieve quietly, honoring his memory with the decency, dignity and gentle strength he showed us every day of his life.” The note was signed by Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar.
