‘Bhooth Bangla’ box office collection Day 8: Akshay Kumar starrer starts its second weekend with Rs 90 crore mark; Faced with stiff competition from the Hollywood biopic ‘Michael’

Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, has entered its second weekend well, crossing the 90 crore mark at the domestic box office. However, the uninterrupted run so far faces competition from Hollywood biopic ‘Michael’.On Day 8 (second Friday), ‘Bhooth Bangla’ collected Rs 5.75 crore from 8,573 shows. While this marks a sharp rise from Thursday’s collections, the film’s net collection in India has reached Rs 90.15 crore after closing the first week at a strong Rs 84.40 crore, according to a Sacnilk report.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ in total abroad
In gross terms, the film’s collections in India are 107.20 crores. Overseas, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ added 2.50 crores on Day 8, taking its total international gross to 37.50 crores. This pushes the worldwide gross collection to 144.70 crore so far.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ vs ‘Michael’
The film was the undisputed winner of the competition, however, it faced an unlikely competitor when the Hollywood biopic ‘Michael’, about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, was released. The film, starring Jaafar Jackson, surprised everyone with its impressive Rs 3.80 crore collection on Friday. Adding €1.70 million from preview sessions, the film has made a debut of €5.50 million according to early estimates.This puts the film just 25 lakhs behind the collections of ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
