Tata Motors The updated 2026 Tiago is gearing up for launch in India, with the hatchback likely to make its debut on May 28. The company has already shared the “Block Your Date” teaser for the upcoming launch, hinting that the facelifted Tiago is the first in a series of latest Tata models for the Indian market.Currently positioned as the most affordable hatchback in Tata Motors’ lineup, the Tiago competes with rivals like Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Suzuki Swift. Spy shots of test mules have already revealed several design changes. At the front, the Tiago facelift is expected to get a thinner grille, redesigned headlamps and a sharper bumper design, giving the hatchback a more aggressive stance than before. The side profile is likely to remain largely unchanged, though Tata Motors may introduce a new set of multi-spoke alloy wheels.At the rear, the hatchback is expected to get revised LED tail lamps along with a redesigned tailgate and updated bumper styling. Some earlier spy photos have also hinted at the possibility of an attached taillight setup. Tata Motors is also likely to introduce some new exterior paint options along with the facelift.Inside the cabin, the updated Tiago is expected to get a redesigned dashboard layout along with a refreshed center console with gloss black inserts. Tata is also expected to expand the feature list further, possibly borrowing from the Punch’s feature set.The outgoing Tiago is already equipped with features like a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, cruise control, automatic climate control, cooled glove box, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Along with the facelift, features like a fully digital driver display and a 360-degree camera could also be added.

2026 Tata Tiago: Engine Options

Mechanically, the Tiago facelift is expected to continue with the existing petrol and CNG powertrain options. The Tiago iCNG will continue to produce 75.5 hp and 96.5 Nm of torque and is expected to retain its dual-cylinder setup. Notably, the Tiago is one of the few cars in India to offer an AMT gearbox with the CNG powertrain.For now, Tata Motors is likely to unveil only the combustion-powered Tiago facelift, while the updated Tiago.ev may follow in the coming months. The electric hatchback is expected to get similar styling and feature upgrades and may also get a 30 kWh battery pack option over the current model.
