Hyundai Motor India today launched the new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV in the Indian market priced at Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated electric SUV has been introduced with a larger battery pack, revised styling, additional technology and improved safety features. However, it is priced at Rs 12.10 lakh more than the outgoing model, which was listed at Rs. 43.60 lakhs (ex-showroom). The increase reflects improvements in range and performance, as well as exterior design changes that give the model a more current look.Interested customers can book the new Ioniq 5 online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. The new Hyundai IONIQ 5 is offered in Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Gray and Optic White exterior shades, all paired with an Obsidian Black interior theme. The Hyundai IONIQ 5, built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, continues to be the company’s flagship electric model in India.

Talking about the battery pack first, it comes with a larger 84kWh battery pack, replacing the earlier 72.6kWh unit. It claims an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 690km on a full charge. Hyundai has not revealed power figures for the India-specific model. However, in global markets, the rear-wheel drive version with an 84kWh battery delivers 229hp and 350Nm. Exterior changes include updated front and rear bumpers, revised skid plates, a new alloy wheel design, a redesigned rear spoiler and a new V-garnish lighting element, continuing Hyundai’s parametric pixel design language.Inside, the cabin sees usability-focused updates. It now gets a three-spoke leather steering wheel with a bright four-dot pixel design and dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instruments along with a heating function. The wireless charging pad has also been redesigned to include physical controls for heated and ventilated seats.Technology upgrades include Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and Controller Over the Air (C-OTA) functionality. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included with Active Sound Design. This model also introduces an in-car payment system for remote immobilization and EV charging via Hyundai BlueLink.
