Honda Cars India has released the first official teaser of the updated Honda City ahead of its India launch on May 22, 2026. The teaser image shows the sedan under a cover, with only thin LED DRLs visible. Continuing with similar engine options, the updated City is expected to get cosmetic revisions, feature enhancements and cabin updates. Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia will continue to compete in the sedan segment.
2026 Honda City Facelift: What to Expect
In terms of design, the facelifted City is expected to feature a sharper front fascia with revised LED lighting elements, updated bumpers and an updated grille design. Multiple leaked images show a thinner grille and honeycomb/mesh-inspired treatment. The side profile is likely to remain largely unchanged, including the roofline and overall silhouette. However, the updated sedan is expected to get redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the bumper design is expected to be modified, with updated tail lamps and vertically positioned reflectors.Inside the cabin, the facelifted sedan may get enhancements such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and an updated infotainment system with improved connectivity features. Revised upholstery and new interior color themes are also expected. However, the overall layout of the dashboard is likely to remain the same as the current model.Mechanically, the sedan is expected to continue with the current powertrain options. The standard model will likely retain the 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. Honda is also expected to continue offering a stronger hybrid version with a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine coupled with an electric motor, which delivers 124 hp and 253 Nm of torque.
