New Delhi: The Indian men’s cricket team is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in the second half of August this year as part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, Cricbuzz reported on Monday.The exact dates of the series are yet to be decided, but Cricbuzz, citing Sri Lanka Cricket sources, said that the matches are expected to be played between August 15 and 27.There is still no confirmation of the three T20 internationals that were earlier expected to be part of the tour.Both these Tests will be held after the Lankan Premier League which ends on August 9. The window identified for the series has been shared with all stakeholders including the Indian team.BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has traveled to Sri Lanka as an ICC delegation to review the situation of Sri Lankan cricket, which was recently dissolved by the government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. An interim body called the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee has since been appointed.India will resume international cricket with a Test against the Afghanistan national cricket team in Milanpur on June 6, followed by a three-match ODI series. India will then tour Ireland, England and Zimbabwe before heading to Sri Lanka.India are currently fifth in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings with four wins and four losses from nine matches. He has 52 points and a points percentage of 48.15.Sri Lanka are fourth in the standings, although they have played only two matches in the current 2025-2027 WTC cycle.
