However, this approach did not always meet with the composer’s immediate approval. He said, as quoted by IANS, “There were fights with Anu Malik in every song. I have a habit of trying to give 100 percent the first time. So I sang for the first time. As soon as he sang, he said: “Disgusting! what’s wrong with you What’s wrong with you Sanu? What’s wrong?’. I asked him: ‘What happened, is there a problem?’ He said, you are singing so disgustingly. You are not tuned in. Learn it once’. I gave him another shot.”What happened next surprised the singer even more. Despite Malik’s strong reaction, the recording session ended without further discussion. Recalling the episode, Sanu said, “We took it. He got up and left the studio. I was standing on the microphone. The recorder said, ‘It’s over. Please come’. You did really well today. After seven or eight hours, I received a reaction from him.”The anecdote provided insight into the creative dynamic between the singer and the composer, whose collaboration produced several memorable Bollywood hits.
