The director admitted that he expected the film to cross higher numbers at the box office. “I imagined the applause… I heard it in the theatres. I burst out laughing… I heard it in the theatres. But still the 100 crore benchmark was not touched,” he shared candidly. Despite the mixed results, Vignesh Shivan said he was still proud of the trip. “Here I am. Not broken. Not shaken. But proud…profoundly proud,” she added in her heartfelt message.

On the same note, Vignesh Shivan also revealed that the film had many unseen struggles before its release. “Behind this film were struggles that no one could see. Sleepless nights. Silent fears. And only I felt a thousand obstacles,” he wrote. According to the filmmaker, even though the film did not quite live up to his expectations commercially, he still considers its release a personal victory. He also explained that much of the film’s profits came after people initially doubted the project. The director’s honest and moving words quickly received the support of fans and netizens.
