Since welcoming her first child Katrina Kaif last year Vicky Kaushal he is discovering a new side of life. The actor, who became a father to baby boy Vihaan Kaushal on November 7, 2025, recently opened up about the lessons that parenting has taught him and how it has changed the way he looks at his upbringing.Vicky reflected on the values her parents instilled in her and acknowledged that being a father made her appreciate their efforts.“When I look at my upbringing,” said Vicky in an interview with The Nod Mag, “I understand that there were reasons for so many things. We weren’t flying financially. So there was that pressure. But they were responsible for instilling the right values in me.” The actor has revealed that raising his son has made him aware of the importance of setting an example rather than giving advice. “That happens to me at the most random times [instilling the right values] He is responsible for my son now,” she added, “He will learn by watching how his parents think, talk and act. So I realized that what you want to see reflected in him should come in your actions rather than words.”Vicky also opened up about the emotional challenges of being a new parent. After taking a six-week break since the birth of Vihaan, the actor had to leave home for a four-day shoot, nearly 230 kilometers away. The separation, he admitted, was much more difficult than expected. “My heart sank. It was hard,” she said. The experience helped her understand the emotions that parents often talk about while raising their children.“There are a lot of new sensations that come up almost every day because being a parent is new to me. Now I understand when others would say ‘Yaar, bacha kitna jaldi bada ho raha hai’. And I would think, ‘What are you talking about? Your baby is still a year old’.
