The actress recently approached the court to protect her privacy rights amid the growing circulation of fake content and objectionable material on digital platforms.According to India Today, the Delhi High Court issued an interim order directing the actor to remove exploitative and offensive content involving the actor from social media and other online channels.A single judge of Justice Jyoti Singh directed intermediaries and digital platforms to ensure that Varun Dhawan’s name, image and voice are not misused “in any way or manner”.
Court extends protection against gross misrepresentation and false content
The order purportedly extends protection against other manipulated or offensive material circulating online without the actor’s consent.The court also directed the platforms hosting such content to take preventive measures to stop its further circulation through digital and media channels.The interim protection also covers unauthorized commercial exploitation involving unidentified individuals, referred to in legal proceedings as “John Doe” defendants.
